About

Multidisciplinary Design and Optimization (MDO).

Since 2009, North American Aerospace has led the Pacific Northwest in developing advanced propulsion and efficiency solutions. We focus on the design, construction, and flight testing of experimental components that offer low acoustic signatures, efficiency, and high-performance power solutions for the drone and urban air mobility sectors. North American Aerospace accelerates Advanced Air Mobility by aligning on a national strategy, securing investment, and implementing new technologies.

What We Do

Advanced systems for the end user.

At North American Aerospace, we flip the traditional engineering script: we start with the user’s experience and build the technology to support it. Our mission is to ensure every component serves the user’s specific goals, not just the technical specs. Simplicity is our maxim. We believe that true sophistication lies in form, function, and efficiency—creating complex systems that feel intuitive, as if they’ve always worked that way. Our strength lies in our agility. We are a specialized team of partner engineers, designers, and mechanics with deep roots in manned and unmanned systems, across both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. From advanced composites to precision metal fabrication, we don’t just build technology; we design for the mission.

Introducing Colaborative Operations Pilot Interface (COPI)

Self-Flying System

North American Aerospace leans heavily on its experimental aircraft experience and on its Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) DNA to design the Collaborative Operations Pilot Interface (COPI): an integrated flight system aviator that aviates, navigates, and communicates with the capacity to takeoff and land and fly from coast to coast. What does this mean? Air Traffic Control (ATC) is unable to detect that the aircraft is self-flying. The foundation of NAAC’s groundbreaking approach lies in its extensive experience and design process. COPI has a simple light architecture of onboard computation and sensors. The company purposely utilized a small experimental aircraft platform to make the system scalable to other aircraft, resulting in significantly lower capital expenditure and time to deployment.
